1) Party Pack Foam Plates
When it comes to ensuring that you pack your plates in a way that won't cause them to break, the first thing that may come to your mind is a set of foam squares which can help to separate and keep your plates in a safe condition. However, those can prove to be expensive to say the least and as is the case with any moving scenario, when you factor in gas and other moving supplies, you'll want to keep your costs down to a minimum. One way you can pack your plates neatly and provide them with an adequate amount of protection for a fraction of the cost of a set of foam squares, is by utilizing a party pack of foam plates. Best of all, you can find them at your local grocery store or .99 cent store for as little as - you guessed it - .99 cents.
2) Snack Hack
The whole concept of utilizing snacks as an aid to your moving process may not seem feasible at first glance, but in all actuality snacks can actually help when it comes to moving more cost efficiently. For example, the cans of certain snacks such as prinkles, can prove to be an ideal container that can be used to store small miscellaneous items such as pencils, crayons and pens as well. Additionally, certain snacks can serve as a cost efficient, cushion that can help to protect fragile items. For example, popcorn in particular is extremely cheap and can be a terrific and more cost effective alternative to use as opposed to bubble wrap. To do this hack, pour a few kernels into the empty space of any boxes you may have that contains fragile items.
3) Open Lock Hack
Practically every mover has locked themselves out at some point or another, while they were in the midst of packing. One way you can avoid this is by utilizing some rubber bands. Do do this hack, turn the inside knob of the door to the "open position" and hook the rubber band over it to hold that position, then twist it to form an "X" so that you can hook the other end on the outside knob as you cover the latch in between. It's also worth noting that you can use a set of rubber packs for other things such as keeping small boxes closed and for keeping small items such as a stack of pens together.
